Award-winning journalist Jacques Pauw, founder of anti-Apartheid newspaper Vrye Weekblad and former executive producer of investigative current affairs show Special Assignment launches his explosive new tell-all book The President’s Keepers.

Twice-named CNN African Journalist of the Year Pauw’s career has been characterised by hard-hitting documentaries that have exposed government atrocities and corruption, with previous projects covering the Rwandan Genocide, the Dafur War and the Apartheid-era's state sanctioned death squads.

Pauw's latest book The President’s Keepers traces President Jacob Zuma’s ties to the South African criminal underworld. Revealing details of police incompetency and unwillingness to prosecute high-ranking gangsters, such as corrupt Cape Town business kingpin Mark Lifman, the book goes into detail about how President Jacob Zuma has successfully dodged paying tens of millions of Rand worth of taxes during his time in the presidency.

From the Gupta family to Russian oligarchs and South African contraband smugglers, Pauw reveals the circle of criminals who have helped in "keeping Zuma in power and out of prison”.

Fri Nov 10: To attend the Book Revue launch at Glenshiel RSVP to pippa@thebookrevue.co.za or camillatwigg@mweb.co.za. The Book Revue launch includes a light tea at R100 per person.
