Arte Botanica at Nirox Sculpture Park
Saturday Nov 9 10:00–19:00
24 Kromdraai Rd, Cradle of Humankind
The particular focus of this inaugural event is on the relationship between art and fashion and brings together a programme of exciting collaborations.
Arte Botanica at Nirox brings together leading South African fashion label designers, among them Laduma Ngxokolo of Maxhosa and Jacques Van der Watt of Black Coffee, with local contemporary artists the likes of Nandipha Mntambo and Mary Sibande, photographers Trevor Stuurman and Justin Dingwall and an exciting mix of music performers to present a collection of fashion-focused installations at locations throughout the sculpture park. Putting sustainable, ethical and conscious fashion on the agenda is a theme running through the entire event set against the backdrop of Nirox's extreme natural beauty as a setting. The event comes with its own dress code: wear white and natural tones.
The day ends with a closing sunset catwalk show accompanied by a live performance by the Johannesburg Philharmonic Orchestra.
