Acclaimed South African jazz pianist Andile Yenana hosts the launch of his newest album in over a decade at The Orbit this Friday night.

The album was recorded live over two nights at the Bird’s Eye Jazz Club in Basel, Switzerland and was a result of a Swiss-South African cultural exchange programme. Yenana toured Switzerland alongside celebrated South African jazz trumpeter Marcus Wyatt and SAMRO finalist and trombonist Siyasanga Charles, following in the footsteps of the Jazz Epistles, South Africa’s first bebop band whose chose exile in Switzerland under the Apartheid government’s rule.

This concert promises new compositions and reworked favourites and Yenana is joined by his fellow South African collaborators who he performed with in Switzerland - Marcus Wyatt and Siyasanga Charles, as well as by local rising star saxophonist Sisonke Xonti.
