We've raved about the prix fixe lunch menu at The Shortmarket Club – a solution to making fine dining more accessible that we were delighted to try out in June 2024. What started as a limited offer is now a regular fixture at Shortmarket Club, as well as at its sister restaurant, The Pot Luck Club, both of which are located in the Oxford Parks precinct in Rosebank. In short, the menus are outstanding and pull out all the stops. The fixed price is just R450 per person, which is simply irresistible.
The Pot Luck Club
One of our long-time Cape Town favourites, it was a good day indeed when legendary Chef Luke Dale Roberts decided to bring his Pot Luck kitchen to Joburg with its enticing small plates of robust flavours and an energetic atmosphere. Social yet sophisticated, The Pot Luck Club in Oxford Parks is well suited to the spirit of the city. The experience here is steeped in indulgence, from the richness of the dishes to the variety of tastes on your plate. The contemporary open kitchen gives you insight into the rigorous process that produces these wondrous flavours. A meal here has the feel of an occasion, which is sometimes missing in Joburg establishments.

Fish sliders with mojo dressing and miso mayo.
Peri peri chicken, ajo blanco, kale and pepper salad, braai vinaigrette.
Smoked beef fillet with black pepper and truffle café au lait.
Chickpea and goat cheese parmesan fries with truffle aioli and smoked ketchup.
PLC sweets board featuring nougat, salted chocolate caramel, macaron, and mochi.
