This heritage centre in the historic neighbourhood of Sophiatown - the 1950's home of South Africa's Drum generation of artists, poets and musicians functions - also serves as an intimate jazz concert venue with the Sophiatown Jazz Encounter usually taking place on the last Friday of every month and regularly starring some of the leading names in jazz in Johannesburg. Guests are invited to bring their own drinks and snacks to the concert, the centre will provide glasses and ice. Doors open at 19:15.<br />
