Founded in 2000, the JPO produces a regular series of Symphony Seasons featuring international and local soloists and conductors. The JPO aims to make classical music accessible to everyone by incorporating South African music genres and welcoming diverse guest performers. The JPO is also involved in fostering the next generation of classical stars with its educational initiative, The Academy, and it supports various youth orchestras and ensembles around Gauteng. The JPO even has the distinct honour of being the orchestra of choice for state functions in Gauteng.
Each season, the JPO attracts both dedicated classical music enthusiasts and new audiences looking to discover the joys of classical music.

Thu, Feb 27 at 19:30 – Featuring conductor Daniel Boico with soloist Mayumi Kanagawa on violin. On the playlist is Oberon Overture by von Weber, Violin Concerto, Op.35 in D major by Tchaikovsky, and Symphony No. 2 Op. 73 in D major by Brahms.

Thu, Mar 6 at 19:30 – Featuring conductor Mark Kadin and soloist Leo de Maria on piano. Expect to hear Piano Concerto No. 1, Op. 11 in E minor by Chopin and Symphony No. 2 Op. 43 D major by Jean Sibelius.

Thu, Mar 13 at 19:30 – Featuring conductor Bernhard Gueller and Gustavo Romero on piano. You'll be listening to Symphony No. 4, Op. 60 in B flat major by Beethoven, and Piano Concerto No. 1, Op. 15 in D minor by Brahms.
