Ye Olde Hurdy-Gurdy Museum of Vintage Radio

A colourful array of radio and music paraphenalia greet visitors to curator Pat Herbert's impeccable collection, amassed over four dedicated decades. The fruits of his labours are on display at the Martello Tower overlooking Howth Harbour. As well as boasting possibly the best museum name in Ireland, it also boasts a fitting location as this former cable station was where the Marconi Company once conducted ship-to-shore wireless radio experiments and Howth and Holyhead became connected by a submarine telegraph cable. Fabulous retro relics include vintage radios, gramophones and advertisements, many of whose styles endure to this day. Entrance is via an uphill pathway.
