Originally built as a tobacco store with vaults beneath to store wine, the Chq Building is steeped in local history and, traditionally, locals knew it as the ‘Banquet Hall’. It was the venue for the Crimean War banquet in the mid-nineteenth century but is now home to a great range of boutique shops. Located in the Docklands, the waterfront outside hosts festivals, markets and many other cultural events throughout the year.
