Originally built by the Turks in 1667, the clock tower long served as the main gate to the old town. Nowadays the tower and its battlements rise just above the surrounding tiled roofs at the eastern side of Nikola Đurković Square and is one of the main symbols of Herceg Novi. Don't miss taking a closer look at the Mother of God sculpture that adorns the inner passageway, which is carved from burnt wood and is referred to as the “Black Madonna” by locals.
