In the Middle Ages, Hanover like most cities in Germany, had a city wall. Outside of the wall, in what is now known as the Eilenriede, are fortifications. First mentioned in the 12th century, the Döhrener Turm was part of the fortifications. Better to come here to see its remains when it’s sunny.
