An impressive building with a lighthouse-like tower perched on the roof is home to the Museum for Hamburg History. Focusing on the development of the city and its harbour, everyday life and culture, it has a great collection of artefacts, scale models, house interiors and even the complete facade of the 1605 St. Petrichurch, all illustrating the spectacular rise of Hamburg. Regular special exhibitions
are held on topics related to the city.
