De Negende Cirkel (The Ninth Circle) is one of the city's most popular student bars. Despite its unsavoury reference to a Satanic cult, the Groningen version is much more friendly and doesn't involve the killing of innocents or the molestation of farm animals, not that we've seen anyway. Although the interior of an Eskimo hut at the North Pole has more charm than this barren space, it's still packed almost every night with young teenagers doing everything that we responsible, boring and hard-working adults can only dream of. Perhaps you'd like to see the drinks list? Forget about it. Order a small Heineken or a giant cup of that ice cold Amsterdam brew.
