Not the cheapest place on Schiermonnikoog, but certainly one of the better establishments around to spoil your taste buds. Although Ambrosijn only opened a couple of years ago, today it would be hard to imagine the island's eating & drinking scene without this lovely eatery. The cook loves his job and the result is a wide array of heavenly dishes made from unusual recipes. We especially appreciated the use of so-called 'forgotten vegetables' that often don't find their way to dinner tables these days. Unfortunately, the quality comes with a matching price tag, but we think it's worth the expense. Try a couple of scoops of the locally made ice cream called Eilander IJs.
