Ślesin is a lakeside town near Konin in the Greater Poland Voivodeship. While the town itself is reasonably picturesque, the smaller town of Licheń Stary often steals the limelight. The town is also the home of 'Napoleon's gate', built in 1811 or 1812 in honor of Napoleon Bonaparte, who was to return through the Slesin from the Russian campaign. Ślesin is a key point on the Great Waterway Loop of Wielkopolska.
