One of the top attractions in the area, the Tamborine Mountain Rainforest Skywalk is the perfect destination for city folk like us, who love and truly appreciate the awe-inspiring beauty of the outdoors, but aren't especially keen to spend hours slogging away along a hiking trail to get there. Set on 30 acres of rainforest, the walk twists and turns for some 1.5km both above and below the canopy, with one-fifth of the distance comprised of high-tech steel bridges suspended up to 30m above the ground. For those who would like a more immersive experience there is plenty of opportunity to linger along the way, to read the wealth of information about the local flora and fauna presented on various signs, snap a selfie for Instagram or just take some deep breaths and appreciate the awesome beauty and calming serenity of Mother Nature. Back in the main building, the café terrace overlooking the rainforest is a great place to relax with a coffee or a light snack, and there are lots of souvenir options in the gift shop to commemorate your visit.
