Heritage isn't just a name at this award-winning winery. With some three decades of history it holds the distinction of being the oldest estate in the area, while the main building has a unique history unto itself, originally serving as the Infant Saviour Church in Burleigh Heads from its construction in 1935 until it was deconsecrated and moved up to Tamborine Mountain in 1999. In the years since, the storied, old-world venue has unsurprisingly become one of the most popular wedding venues on the mountain, while recent years have brought increased recognition to the estate's wines as well, boasting a 5-star rating in James Halliday's prestigious Australian Wine Companion and also being named one of the Ten Dark Horse Wineries of 2016. The atmosphere for wine tastings is both relaxed and informative, and we always thoroughly enjoy our visits, especially when we've got time to savour a lovely gourmet lunch with sweeping views of the surrounding countryside. After your wine tasting and/or meal make sure to check out the gallery upstairs, which hosts regular contemporary art exhibitions by both established and emerging Australian artists.
