This small Broadbeach eatery with worn-wooden tables and MC Escher walls is likely our favourite place on the Gold Coast to get an authentic Neapolitan pizza. Just like in the Old Country, the key here is simplicity and high quality ingredients, which starts with the namesake Caputo 00 finely milled Italian flour – as much as we hate perpetuating stereotypes, it is said to be the Godfather of flours. Pizzas are fired for a scant 90 seconds, and served up piping hot, while the fresh pasta and risotto dishes are also excellent. Want to try your hand in the kitchen? You can attend a 3-hour pizza master class first Saturday of everything month, where in addition to learning how to make the perfect pizza, $79 gets you course notes, a glass of wine and the final results of your efforts.
