If you've got cats at home and find yourself missing some furry feline affection whilst visiting the Gold Coast, there's no longer any need to fret, as Surfers Paradise now has its very own cat café where you and the kids can do a little cuddling. Some dozen cats call the place home, and each has its own detailed biography on the café's website. Despite the name, the four-legged inhabitants tend to be more lethargic than crazy, but they are cats after all so that's probably to be expected. Per government regulations, the café and cat lounge areas are separated by double doors and younger children are not allowed to hold or carry the animals. If you're flexible on time and/or staying in Surfers Paradise, we recommend dropping by without a reservation, as the less busy it is the better the experience.
