Don't let the fact that its located in a shopping centre fool you, Base's coffee bona fides are strong enough that even the local hipsters gladly tolerate the modern mall atmosphere to savour what is arguably the best coffee in town. The exceptional coffee comes courtesy of the roasters at Queensland's own Uncle Joe's, back-to-back winner of the prestigious Compak Golden Bean roasters competition, and is prepared by a team of very skilled baristas. The Double Base (an espresso and a piccolo from single origin coffee) is a great value for caffeine addicts like us at only $5, while there's also a good selection of food if you show up hungry.
