Almost overnight this unassuming street off Shawlands Cross on Kilmarnock Rd has become a hub of trendy gift and coffee shops. The Bean Scene set the scene with its groovy music, slouchy leather sofas and good  coffee,  next door is the recently opened Biscuit, offering breakfasts and  light bites in altogether more brighter surroundings. Next again is Deli 1901 with its sumptuous homemade food and cakes. A fantastic selection of wines and interesting carry out food including corn fed chicken pies and sun-blush tomato tarts makes this place worth the visit. If it’s a bargain you’re looking for, the charity Cosgrove Care has three shops in the street offering everything from household furniture to books and clothes. Gift shop Note has a plethora of funky gifts and cards and now Butterfly Kisses next door is giving it a run for its money with even more delightful goodies for all ages. Women and childrens wear, homeware, accessories, gifts and lingerie have been sourced from around the globe. Many items exclusive to this boutique. Who needs the West End?
