The picturesque village of Dhoksati hangs on the mountainside in the Lunxhëri region, 10km across the valley from Gjirokastra. Selected as one of the 100 villlages in the Albanian agrotourism development programme, it's a lovely place to spend some time, wander around the steep cobblestone street, the fields and forest, and sample the food at the local bar - with good soil and plentiful water running off the mountain, Dhoksati is particularly famous for its tomatoes. One highlight is the traditional Çuçaj House from 1860, where the owners are happy to show visitors around and may show their traditional lunxhe costumes.
