Deutsches Architekturmuseum

First opened 1979, this was the first architecture museum in Europe. The angular-looking building, designed by Oswald Mathias Ungers, was itself an inspiration to further explore man's reasoning for creating proper shelter from the elements. Beginning with the mud-brick structures of the Sumerians, the museum ends with modern skyscrapers.
