This was at one-time Gdynia’s number one ‘bar noir’ and the name still conjures images of when it was a place student revolutionaries sat smoking and plotting revolution over the Communist government. While the national revolution took place at the end of the eighties, it took Cyganeria a quarter of a century to follow suit. Today it is a warm and inviting space set on the ground floor of one of the city’s modernist apartment building which is shaped like an ocean liner and today’s Cyganeria offers a more remarkable menu than most cafes in town. As day becomes evening it morphs into an inviting place for a glass of wine while you have your own whispered conversation.
