Previously a very obscure bar between the shopfronts on Władysława where you had to ring the doorbell to get in, Carnivale is now located on a fairly prominent location on Starowiejska. As the name may hint, the bar is themed around that age-old fear of clowns and the nightmarish circus that they have been keeping away from the public eye this whole time. The NO TATTOO NO ENTRY sign has been kept since the move, though you shan't worry - this rule doesn't actually exist. On the contrary, there is no elitist atmosphere to be felt here - all are welcome! The mismatch of furniture includes old-school cinema seating that springs back into place when you get up, a handly way to maintain space in this small venue. The main area is a great little recreation of a big top interior complete with automated spotlighting, which is not just reminiscent of the circus but also the chaos following a prison break. More of a regular sight these days is the hosting of live music and DJ sets (twice a month at this stage), which is sorely lacking elsewhere in Gdynia! Second location in Sopot.
