Nowadays cited as the inspiration for JK Rowling's Diagon Alley in Harry Potter this street with it's brightly coloured facades overshadowed by two levels of buildings in all over 10 stories high, curves away from the Royal Mile to the Grassmarket and provides a dramatic backdrop to many a tourists photo. Such is it's popularity these days that it is actually difficult to get a picture without tourists in it, its variety of intriguing shops and restaurants luring you in. Plenty of Harry Potter references along the way.
