Over The Top Tours
The Celtic Tour offers you the chance to learn more about Ireland’s religious history. The Hill of Tara was the seat of the kings of Ireland and its stone of Destiny linked the Gods of earth and heavens. When the king stood on top of it and let out three roars then he was crowned. Fourknocks is one of the largest and undeveloped pre-historic sites in Europe and you can see some of the ancient spiral patterns on the stones of the graves from over 5,000 years ago. Mellifont Abbey represents a new style of architecture in Ireland and at one point over 400 monks lived here complete with their own ‘lavabo’. In Monasterboice you see the remains of two churches, a cemetary, a round tower and some high crosses.
