Kinsale has been an important fishing port since medieval times but today is more famous as the Gourmet Capital of Ireland. It's a deserved title, with an endless array of fantastic eateries in a gorgeous setting on the coast of West Cork. It's also a great spot for fishing, sailing, golfing and of course, sightseeing, whether you are exploring the beautiful landscape of the region or simply strolling along the harbour cooing at the luxury yachts attracted to the area. The historic Charles Fort - a 17th century structure built in the shape of a star, which offers guided tours and a stunning view, is also nearby and worth a visit.
