Mario Biondi is known as the Italian Barry White because of his strong baritone voice and his unforgettable, and quick to sell out, shows, during which he interprets jazz, soul and R&B music. He is making a comeback to Croatia this year as part of the Poreč Summer on August 1 for a big outdoor concert on Freedom Square, Poreč.

Amira Medunjanin, a singer, humanitarian, and Bosnia's personal Billie Holiday, will perform at Morosini – Grimani Castle in Svetvinčenat on August 10. She is famous for her interpretation of sevdalinka, a traditional Bosnian song, which won her the accolade of being one of the greatest voices of her generation.

The 13th edition of the Vlajternativa Festival in Benkovac is coming back stronger than ever this year, to prove once again that punk rock music is alive and kicking. The festival provides visitors with a great atmosphere and an incredible lineup of 7 bands including Savršeni Marginalci, Liquid SuperCharge, The Toy Dolls, War Head, Stratus, Porazium and Neon Lies. The festival will be held on August 10 on the playground of knez Branimir High School in Benkovac.

The Pannonian Rock Festival, the greatest moshing experience for all the heavy metal fans out there, will be held at the Catacombs in Osijek from August 15 – 17. The festival will bring  powerful names from the world of rock and metal to the open-air festival and these musicians  are sure to throw the best heavy metal party of the Summer.

Anna Oxa is an Italian singer, TV presenter and actress, highly recognized for her many participations in the Sanremo Music Festival. However, she gained the most popularity for her provocative and charismatic personality on stage which she is sure to bring to the Open Air Theatre in Opatija on August 15.

Lastovo is an absolute hidden gem of an island and a perfect Summer getaway location, therefore making it the perfect spot for a little festival called Island Of Music. From August 15 – 18, Mihajlo Bay in Lastovo will be swarming with great concert gigs, DJ shows, various workshops, exhibitions, film productions, and other recreational activities such as beach volleyball and bocce ball games. Be sure not to miss out.

This August, the island of Korčula will be musically and culturally uplifting its visitors with a unique opera week. The programme includes 3 performances: the siege of Korčula (A baroque opera consisting of three acts) on August 19, Ivo Tijardović Marco Polo on August 22, and the famous Nikola Šubić Zrinski on August 24.

Špancirfest is a popular and well known street festival that the town of Varaždin has been proud to host since 1999. Each day of the festival is filled with a rich programme consisting of concerts, food stands, gaming and party zones, wine tastings and many more fun happenings and activities suitable for all ages. It will take place from August 23 – September 1.

Dubrovnik Summer Festival
which runs from July 10 to August 25 embraces theatre, dance, classical music and a lot more. There is more often than not a challenging mix of tradition and experimentation, with canonical authors like Shakespeare and Croatia's Renaissance playwright Marin Držić getting ruffled up by contemporary directors. The unique appeal of the festival lies in its choice of settings, with Old Town buildings and nearby islands providing some stunning backdrops to an unforgettable collection of performances. Editors is an English band that combines variations of dark indie guitar rock with dark wave and post-punk genres, all the while taking influences from bands like R.E.M., Echo & the Bunnxmen, Joy Division etc. By experimenting with these influences, they have created their own unique sound which has brought them immense success and large numbers of committed fans. This powerful sound will echo within St. Michael's Fortress in Šibenik where a live show will be held on August 26. 

Osijek Summer of Culture is a grand cultural programme providing visitors with a wide-range selection of events throughout the entire Summer. Between June 28 and August 31, the town of Osijek comes alive with a new vibrant atmosphere. Some of the many events taking place during this time are: a film production of L'ultima notte di Amore on August 8, Les Miserables on August 15, Luzzu on August 16,  and a jazz concert by the Jerko Jurin quartet on August 29, to name just a few.

Critical Tourism is a travelling exhibition and project that deals with the artistic questioning and criticism of unorganized and unplanned tourism. The exhibition talks about the consequences of tourism, organized or otherwise, on the cultural, social and spatial development in Croatia. It also points out the lack of cultural policy guidelines on a local and state level. It takes place at the Striegl Town Gallery in Sisak from June 14 – September 15.

The Ponta Lopud Jazz Festival is scheduled to take place as August ends, and we can’t think of a better place for professional jazz musicians to do their thing than the sumptuous surroundings of lovely Lopud. Masters from all over the world will perform over three days (August 29 - 31) at the festival, and the post-gig jam sessions promise to be electric.
