Berlin

Computerspielemuseum

The world’s first computer games museum is a must for, well, everyone, such is the cultural dominance that gaming has had on our culture for (yes) six decades now. The Computerspielemuseum is one giant love letter to the wonders of gaming, from the Nimrom (the world’s first computer) game all the way to modern first player movies, stopping along at many classics along the way. The museum’s 300 exhibits include rare originals, working classics and plenty more, and the gift shop is the sort of thing that will have you coming back time and time again. Who doesn’t want a PacMan ice cube tray?
The Computerspielemuseum in Berlin is a fascinating museum dedicated to the history and culture of video games, showcasing over 300 exhibits, including rare consoles, arcade machines, and interactive installations. Opened in 1997, it was the world’s first permanent exhibition on digital interactive entertainment and has since become a must-visit destination for gaming enthusiasts. One of its highlights is the iconic PainStation, a game that punishes players with real pain for losing, making it a unique and immersive experience.
