Located in the central square of Chisinau, this cathedral is a slice of the city's religious heritage and history. Although modest on the outside, the inside will reveal you beautiful intricate and colourful ornaments, traditional icons and a great wall in shining gold. Even though most of its interior and exterior looks good now, this 19th century religious landmark has had its share of bad luck, suffering extensive damage during the war and being used as a convention centre in the Soviet era. It's free to enter, but as it’s Orthodox custom, men shouldn't wear shorts and women should wear a head scarf and modest clothing.
