The extraordinary architectural setting – converted grain silos at Cape Town’s Waterfront – is the first thing that strikes you as you enter Zeitz MOCAA with its cavernous spaces and many interlinked chambers. There’s plenty to explore with a number of temporary exhibitions and changing sculptural installations, plus an excellent museum shop. Look out for the colossal installations staged inside the soaring 10-storey BMW Atrium that forms the core of the building and make sure to take advantage of the excellent audio guides available at the entrance. For a special treat head to the rooftop cafe-bar for coffee or lunch with an outstanding view.
