Cape Town’s most romantic spot? Everyone will have their own answer to that question, but we’re finding it difficult to look past a gorgeous stroll along the Sea Point Promenade. Known locally as the Prom, the walk is full of different activities and places to rest the legs, while the sunsets are just about as miraculous as sunsets get. Big praise, entirely warranted.

To explore the area we recommend renting a bike and following the flat wide cycle paths up and down the prom, stopping for an ice-cream or two along the way. If you have time, it's an easy flat ride all the way up to the V&A Waterfront and back. In addition to several public art installations, the distinctive lighthouse painted in red and white candy cane colours is a major local landmark.
