Llandudno is another affluent suburb of Cape Town, about 18km drive along the coast from the city centre towards Hout Bay, that offers incredible (if cold) swimming watched over by lifeguards. The beach is one of the most naturally diverse in the city. This is a Blue Flag beach with gorgeous pristine white sands fringed by milkwood forest and rocky boulders with some caves to explore. At the southern end is a rocky headland known as the Sunset Rocks, a wonderful spot for a walk at the golden hour. Bear in mind that parking is fairly limited and you might have to park a fair walk from the beach at busy times.
