"Čakovec weekend" combines all the programs Čakovec offers from Thursday to Sunday and is published every Wednesday at noon on social channels and on the website.
In addition to the variety of programs, in which everyone can find something for themselves, the location of Čakovec (an hour away from the capital of Croatia, Zagreb, and 3 hours from Ljubljana and Budapest) makes it an ideal weekend escape from everyday city stress. We cannot offer you a "sun and sea" package, but we can certainly offer you the sun and the indoor and outdoor swimming pools, which you can round off by getting in a round at the nearby mini golf course. Playing tennis on the courts of one of the oldest clubs in Croatia — TK Franjo Punčec — is something you can't really do everywhere. An essential part of your trip is an escape from the hustle and bustle of the city to a peaceful and green oasis that stretches down Perivoj Zrinski and is located in the very centre of the city. Let the colourful gastronomic aromas take you to the right gastronomic corner, and connect your impressions in a memorable story with a coffee in the atmosphere of old buildings, where drinking routine coffee will acquire a special and new charm. Antunovo kickstarts the summer wave of various events in Čakovec. The speciality of Antunovo lies in the atmosphere of warmth and hospitality in the small outdoor space, the feeling of a courtyard home in a circle of friends. Through religious and secular programs, Antunovo provides events where everyone can find something for themselves and create a story they will be happy to remember.

The summer festival in Čakovec traces its roots back to the 1980s, and every year, it raises the bar high and builds a tradition ranking Čakovec as a fun place to spend the summer. The month of events attracts all generations to hang out among the canopy of the Perivoj Zrinski Park and the open-air theatre on Trg Republike, offering great musical notes and cultural content.
Porcijunkulovo, 1 - 5 August 2024.
Porcijunkulovo is a combination of faith, tradition and joy that has been attracting all generations to Čakovec for years. During these days, families, friends and strangers connect more than usual, gather in Churches, share lunches, enjoy events and cherish their traditions.
It is the time when the whole spectrum of colours spreads through the city, imbued with cheerfully printed notes that create music that brings a smile to our faces, fills our hearts and creates memories that we want to renew.
Oldtimer rally, TT Classic Tour – 5 - 7 September 2024.
The first Tourist Trophy Croatia 2024 Classic rally will be held from September 5 to September 7 in Međimurje at Terme Sveti Martin and is organised by the international members of the event committee and the company Rudi Express.
The race section will start from Međimurje, through Slovenia and then back to Međimurje.
The unique feature of the Tourist Trophy Classic Rally is that five groups will be arranged by the age of the vehicles, including youngtimers. The rally is designed to be driven according to a specially created road book, measured using electronic devices. The event itself has its own role in promoting sustainable tourism, technical transport culture, and culinary and enological culture.
Autumn in Čakovec, September 27 - 29, 2024.
The straw adventures of our kindergarten groups turn the city into a fun outdoor exhibition with their imagination through hand-made "scarecrows" that bring a smile to everyone's face (and keep the birds away). The aromas of various delicacies from local producers tempt you to try something new at every step, while various handicrafts in every home will bring that true traditional touch of the Međimurje region. The rich program for children brings new smiles to their faces every year, and the sound of laughter and joy extends throughout the entire park. Autumn in Čakovec is an ideal weekend for creating some new memories.
JazzFair, November
The diversity of musical genres has always permeated the streets and homes of the city of Čakovec and the areas of Međimurje County. Music connects us and is certainly one of the main points of any event, whether public or private. We are proud witnesses of how the Međimurje popevka (a regional song) was included in the UNESCO list of intangible cultural assets of humanity. Various guest appearances by popular musicians and their great response prove that Čakovec lives music and composes those special notes through its soul. This year, Čakovec celebrates 30 years of hosting the Jazz Fair.
