At last, a proper pub; a solid looking wooden interior and a clientele that in some cases at least, look like they've been regulars since this cellar tavern opened up in 1987, in the twilight of Goulash socialism. The kind of place you can sit on a weeknight and have a quiet chat without having to compete with piped handbag house music, Karaoke or loud tourists. Places like this used to be commonplace in Budapest, now they're being taken over by gastropubs and the like. You can get 0.5l of Soproni for a very fair 500 HUF, although if you feel like splashing out, they have quite a brandy selection.
