A bed for the night fit for a king, or at least an aristocrat: In the heart of Budapest’s Palace Quarter is the former home of one Count Nandór Zichy, a 19th Century reforming sort of toff. A pleasant melange of stately home and boutique hotel creates an ambience straight out of a Jason Bourne film. The rooms are spotless and because it was built as a private home not a hotel, guest rooms escape the generic box structure of so many hotels and still have some individual quirks. Decent sized beds and heavy black curtains help ensure a very comfortable night’s sleep. The breakfasts - come to think of it they're fit for a king too.
