This former bath house and theatre is one of the most splendid Viennese Secessionist buildings in Budapest, but it was a virtual ruin for well over 50 years before restoration began. The results are near spectacular. It has for our money, the finest façade of any hotel in Budapest. Within, attention has been paid to details such as the ornate mosaic and brass work in the lobby to Baranyai Levente paintings. The Roof Garden with its rooftop spa and pool is a nice place to be high above the city. Located in the middle of Budapest’s 7th District, meaning never far from a pub or a synagogue, our room had two flat screen TVs, one in the bedroom and one in the living room and was decorated in soothing earth tones.
