I visited the surgery last week having been advised in the UK that I would require two implants to replace two broken teeth and these were to be of considerable expense. My feeling was that it would at least be helpful to have a second opinion. It turned out that I had to visit the surgery five times over the course of the week but that did include the consultation. I was advised that I did not require an implant for either but that one may be helpful while the other could be capped. One tooth was removed and this one may require an implant but since I was advised in the UK that I would either need to arrange to have it removed privately or wait for several months to have it done on the NHS I was pleased to have the job done the same week. The other tooth I was told could be saved with a root filling and a crown and though the crown could not be completed on this visit I will be likely to make a further visit especially if I do decide to have the implant. The work was not cheap if you are used to receiving treatment for free but following the tooth extraction I did not experience any level of pain whatsoever and I can assure my tolerance is not high. I am not qualified to comment on the professionalism of work but I personally am extremely pleased with it. I also met another patient who also told me that the clinics work was excellent. Bucharest is still being rebuilt following years of neglect but a visit for dental treatment can be combined with trips to the opera where the best tickets can be bought for about £11 or about the same price as two glasses of wine at Covent Garden. Equally Bucharest's nightlife is pretty electric and once you have broken the ice with the locals they are actually very friendly. It is also much safer than London.
