The Graft (or Gate) Bastion is perhaps the most immediately impressive of all the surviving Brasov fortifications, not least because a footpath leads right through it, revealing the scale of its huge walls. It was built between 1515-21, with two floors and an attic: originally, the only access to the White Tower above was via the attic. Renovated in 2006 the bastion today houses part of the History Museum of Brasov County, featuring the usual collection of medieval arms and armoury.
