Brasov’s newest museum takes a fascinating look at the history of urban civilisation from the 17th century onwards, with the focus being of course on Brasov itself, and its role as a meeting point of east and west in its Saxon heyday. Set over four levels in a fantastic building dating from the 1600s (and which, lovingly renovated, is worth the entrance fee on its own) the exhibition boasts captions in four languages, as well as knowledgeable, approachable and multi-lingual staff happy to answer any questions and fill in any gaps. It is a joy to visit.
