It might be one of the smallest cathedrals in England, but St Philip’s has more than enough history and importance to make up for its perceived lack of physical stature. The church stands in the very centre of the city on Colmore Row, with many of the city’s best cafes and restaurants all around, making the most of this impressive Baroque church as an anchor. ‘Impressive’ doesn’t really do justice to St Philip’s, the seat of the Bishop of Birmingham and a cathedral since 1905.
