If you’re after some authentic Tudor architecture, Blakesley Hall Museum is the place for you. One of the oldest buildings in Birmingham, the house was built in the 16th-century by one of the area’s richest men, although his wealth would not last. It passed through many hands in the centuries that followed, before eventually coming into the ownership of Birmingham City Council, who developed into a museum showcasing the ‘normal’ form of the great wealthy mansions of yore.
