All things Birmingham, under one roof, but there is more to this museum and art gallery than giving puppy eyes to Brum. This mass of culture first opened its doors way back in 1885 and has grown to include over 40 galleries, covering ethnography, social history, archeology and a whole lot more. The largest public collection of Pre-Raphaelite paintings on the planet is found here, along with the love letter to Birmingham that the beginning of this description promised (not an actual love letter, but a great exhibition on the city and its people).
