Built as the “Ice Stadium Wilmersdorf” by Werner Deyle, the stadium was opened on November 29, 1974. The ice stadium has a 6,170 square meter ice surface, an Olympic-sized 400-meter speed skating rink, skate rental and sharpening shop, cloakroom, ice skating shop and a restaurant. In 1985, the first speed skating World Cup race in Germany took place here. In October 2000, the stadium was named after the former Wilmersdorf district mayor Horst Dohm.
