Berlin

Festival: Fête de la Musique

more than a year ago
The annual celebration of midsummer’s night may have started in Paris but it has since become a hugely looked forward to night on the Berlin calendar. The streets, theatres, clubs and churches of the city are given over to all things music, and by ‘all things’ we truly mean ‘all things’. You can expect to see accordion orchestras, singer-songwriters, jazz-punk madness and almost everything in between. The festival truly is a early morning until late late late celebration, with open-air gigs in the day giving way to manic parties at night.

The highlights are endless so simply put your faith in the system, chose your venue and turn up. The variety of bands and musical artists is matched by the variety in venues, making Fête de la Musique one of Berlin’s most unique festivals. When you take into account how unique the German capital is in an artistic sense, that is quite the claim. Did we mention it is free admission? It is free admission. Roll on June 21.
