Taking its name from the 511m Mount Avala just south of Belgrade, this restaurant has all the charm befitting an establishment that opened back in 1945, but has also a modern ambience after undergoing more recent renovations. Often referred to by locals as Mala Avala (Little Avala) or the diminutive Avalica (which sounds really cute in Serbian), the food here is exquisite, with a menu is based on French cuisine with a unique twist, which shouldn't come as a surprise, since chef Igor Beloševič is also the owner and keeps a watchful eye on everything.
