The Museum of Ivo Andrić was opened in 1976 in the apartment in which Andrić, one of the most important writers from Yugoslavia and a Nobel laureate for literature, resided with his wife Milica Babić since 1958. Authentic interiors of the entrance hall, salon and Andrić’s working room are preserved. The rest of the place is adapted and has a permanent showcase of Andrić’s life in chronological order, with original material from Ivo Andrić’s legacy, photographs, documents, artistic and personal items, books, magazines and medals.
