The Museum of Applied Arts was founded in 1950, and belongs to the category of specialised artistic museums. Its original collection consisted of a collection of 3000 items collected by the famous painter and graphic artist Ljuba Ivanović, and over the years the collection has been enriched with purchases, gifts from citizens and donor legacies. Today, the museum has more than 37,000 applied art pieces, including works of exceptional artistic and cultural significance. The museum has eleven sections: Department of Style Furniture, Department of Textile and Costume, Department of Metal Jewellery, Ceramic, Porcelain and Glass Section, Department of Photography and Applied Graphics, Department of Contemporary Applied Arts and Department of Architecture.
