A lot of the splavs are all style over substance, but not 20/44. There is a reason this is the Belgraders’ boat, free of turbo folk and cliches. The name comes from Belgrade’s coordinates on the map, a refreshingly knowledgeable moniker in a world of glitz and faux-glamour, as Turkish disco, American folk and any other combination of ‘nation’ and ‘genre’ you can think of blares out from the speakers. It has also made the move onto land, with the opening of Gastropub 20/44 at the end of Skadarlija.
