Coiste Irish Political Tours
Coiste Irish Political Tours are happy to organise tailor-made group tours of political, historical, cultural and educational significance. And they can also arrange Q&As and discussions with former political prisoners, republicans and loyalists, and former members of the British armed forces and Royal Ulster Constabulary (former Police Service in the North of Ireland). These discussions allow visitors to ask questions of people they might not have easy access to and provide in-depth interaction about our recent history. Tailor-made tours and educational field trips suited to your needs in Belfast, Derry & South Armagh are also available for larger groups.
The tours began in 2000 as a social economy project providing employment opportunities for the growing political ex-prisoner community. Over the years, thousands of people of all ages, including individuals and groups from around the world, have taken these unique tours. Tours of the nearby Shankill area with ex-prisoners from a unionist background can also be organised... never underestimate the fact that this particular political exchange would have been unheard of until relatively recently. If sufficient notice is given, Falls Road Mural Tours can also be arranged in Irish, Basque, Spanish, Italian and French.
Tickets can be purchased through the Coiste website, TripAdvisor, Irish Tour Tickets and the Visit Belfast Welcome Centre (opp. City Hall).
